No Love: Ghanaians Roast Sarkodie For Allegedly Lying About Ace Hood’s Collabo

But just as every plan, it may or may not go well. Things went south when Sarkodie’s words in an interview contradicted with US rapper Ace Hood’s tweet. Ace Hood revealed that he and Sarkodie are working on a joint and even posted a photo on his Instagram and Facebook pages.

This news went viral, many clapped for the rapper Sarkodie for another milestone reached as the first Ghanaian rapper to reach higher heights by featuring an international act. Truth be told, we didn’t want to know details of how Sarkodie was able to negotiate such a collaboration, Hammer of the Last 2 first made it known that Ace Hood reached out to Sarkodie. Sarkodie, also confirmed on Starr FM that Ace Hood reached out to his team about the collaboration. Things got messy and reached Ace Hood’s desk, that is where he spilled the beans about how Sarkodie paid him $25,000 for the collaboration.

In case you have been wondering what exactly Sarkodie said that has gotten the internet on fire. We got you! Here is the transcript of his interview with Bola Ray where he alleges that rapper Ace Hood actually reached out to him and not the norm where mostly African musicians rather chase down their American counterparts.

Bola Ray: Sark, how are you doing man?

Sarkodie: I’m good man

Bola Ray: And welcome back, how did it go with Ace Hood? That is a big one for you.

Sarkodie: That was great, that was great. I didn’t make any announcement because basically i was just, you know, i kind of doubted it, which is bad, but then of course such a call always makes you feel like ummm, it is a prank or something? So i got my agent in the States who actually contacted me that Ace Hood contacted. And i was like, cause mostly…

Bola Ray: So he made the approach?

Sarkodie: Yeah, of course! Mostly it happens the other way round when Africans try to get the attention of these people.

Watch Sarkodie and Bolay Rays interview here, skip to the 9.17 mark:

According to Ace Hood’s tweet below, the collaboration didn’t happen until his requested fee of $25,000 was deposited into his account by Sarkodie’s management. Which means Sarkodie’s people actually reached out to the rapper, and that contradicts what Sarkodie said in his interview above.
