Satanic cult on the rise in Bulawayo

A family from Nkulumane in Bulawayo made shocking revelations that their 14-year-old daughter disappeared from home after she was allegedly initiated into what they believe was a satanic sex cult that is operating from a house in Old Magwegwe, Bulawayo.

The unnamed leader of the cult reportedly runs a number of flea markets in the city. In an interview, the girl's mother (name withheld) who took the brave step of recounting the family's horror, said her daughter who was doing Form Two at a private college in the city was allegedly initiated into a notorious and satanic sex cult after she joined a group called Red-light Girls.

The girl, who reportedly disappeared in February this year, left a letter in which she claimed that she had sold her soul to the "sex devil". She said she was now a problem to her family and that they should not look for her since she would be in safe hands of people who believe in the supernatural world.

The troubled mother said her daughter, who is always seen in the city centre and Old Magwegwe, was communicating with her friends over the phone telling them that she was residing in Old Magwegwe with other girls who also abandoned their families and joined the cult. She further said her daughter was not telling her friends the address where she is staying, fearing that they might sell her out to the family.

The matter of the missing girl is being handled at Nkulumane Police Station where the mother claimed that she was notified by investigating officers that there were about five parents who had also filed reports of the same nature.

"As a family we are going through a hard time after my 14-year-old daughter who was doing Form Two at a city private college disappeared from the house in February. She took all her clothes and photos and left behind a letter stating that we should not look for her because she had sold her soul to the sex devil. She stated in the letter that we should not look for her since she will be in safe hands and comfort of people who promised to properly look after her by opening a flea market for her.

"The letter is at Nkulumane Police Station where the matter is being investigated. As a family and from what we hear, she is always phoning her friends saying she is staying with other girls at a house in Old Magwegwe where they are forced to sleep with different men. We strongly suspect that she was initiated into a satanic sex cult," said the mother.

She said even before she disappeared her daughter would at times fall into deep trance where she would hallucinate and tell her that she was seeing people calling her to come and join their church.

"We also believed that the problem started at school where her friends later told us that she joined a satanic-like cult group called Lady Killers. What pains me the most is the fact that my daughter is sometimes seen in the city centre or in Old Magwegwe in the company of other girls but when we try to trace her even with the help of the police we won't find her. Police are finding it difficult to track her since they cannot positively identify her because she took all her current photos which they said were the best to use during their investigations," added the extremely stressed mother.
