Monrovia — A story published by a web-based magazine recently quoted an unnamed security source as saying that there was a $7 million reduction in U.S. military aid to Liberia.
This is untrue.
U.S. military assistance to the Government of Liberia continues to be robust. As an example, U.S. Foreign Military Financing (FMF) for the Government of Liberia will be $6.5 million this year, with additional money for training and other programs.
In addition, we continue to work with the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Liberia and the Liberia National Police.
We remain a steadfast partner for Liberia, and not just in the security arena.
